ELEN RISK CONSULTING is a member of two NFPA 30 technical committees:
Fundamentals of Flammable and Combustible Liquids (FLC-FUN)
Storage and warehousing of containers and portable tanks (FLC-SWC)
An NFPA Technical Committee (TC) is the primary consensus body responsible for the development and revision of one or more NFPA standards emanating from a Technical Committee project. Appointment to a Technical Committee is based on the candidate's qualifications. By participating in these technical committees, ELEN RISK CONSULTING has access to scientific data and working groups which influence the evolution of standards.
A technical committee is made up of a group of experts. These committees play an essential role in ensuring that codes and standards are comprehensive, up-to-date and reflect the latest knowledge and technology in fire safety and related fields.
Membership of these technical committees is also a sign of recognition of qualifications and experience in these fields.
A reminder of what NFPA is:
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is an international non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating death, injury, property and economic loss due to fire, electricity and related hazards. Founded in 1896, NFPA develops and publishes over 300 consensus codes and standards designed to minimize the possibility and effects of fire and other hazards. Here are some key aspects of NFPA:
Codes and standards: NFPA codes and standards are developed through a consensus process involving volunteers representing various stakeholders.
Publications and resources: NFPA produces several publications, guides and resources to educate and inform about fire safety, including the Fire Protection Handbook and the NFPA Journal.
Training and certification: NFPA offers training programs and certifications for professionals in fire safety and related fields. These programs ensure that individuals and organizations are well versed in the latest safety protocols and practices.
Research and data analysis: NFPA conducts research and data analysis to identify fire hazards, study fire behavior and develop strategies to reduce fire risk. This research serves as the basis for the development of its codes and standards.
Conference and education: NFPA organizes a major conference each year. The NFPA Conference and Exhibition brings together over 5,000 professionals for 120 educational sessions and a major exhibition featuring over 350 companies.
